Towards the Grand St Bernard

Our walk today took us up through the woods over snow, ice and larch needles. We climbed to the disused military fort, Plan Puitz, at 2125m. It was so much colder than yesterday. At the top we rushed our picnic as the wind started to bite through our clothing and then we scurried back down trying not to slip on the icy bits. Thank goodness for the one set of poles we shared.
