Frosted grasses

Another cold sparkly day in the foothills of the Pentlands. We did the same walk as yesterday albeit clockwise this time and 60 meters further than the anti-clockwise route. Today’s blip could have been a view of the Pentlands but I chose to post the delicate hoare frost on roadside grasses instead.

Not quite so many people around today but still very busy. Ice was forming on the reservoirs although without any wind it was comfortable walking.

A quick turnaround when we got back to set off for our second visit to Glasgow for a gathering of the Smith Clan in Bearsden. A thoroughly enjoyable “do” with great food and conversation. I was introduced to sugar free Irn Bru, which will be controversial to many Scots who will assert this adulterated brew should not carry the Irn Bru name.

I also learned that in addition to the well known predilection for deep fried Mars Bars canny Glaswegians can now extend their healthy diet to include deep fried steak pies, deep fried mince pies and deep fried pizza. They may be other delicacies which are available in a deep fried form. I’ll await your comments.
