Lamb's Head

Snow in the air all day left a dusting on the old oak and I began photographing the branches. I had a hard time finding a composition and my attention was drawn to the trunk.

I've seen this burr many times, but never ascribed any form to it before now. Flat overcast light prompted me to burn in some of the shadows and slowly the shape emerged. Accidents happen.
