Sgwarnog: In the Field

Peak

The weather forecast fooled me into expecting a sunny day so I took the train out to Horton in Ribblesdale for a long overdue walk up Pen-y-ghent. 34 years after I climbed Ingleborough and Whernside on an outing of the Lancaster Uni Hiking Club I have finally finished the Yorkshire Three Peaks!

The sun didn't come out, but at least it wasn't windy. The ground was frozen hard on the top which at least mitigated the boggy ground. From the summit I carried on along the ridge to Plover Hill before dropping down and back to the village, with a detour to Hull Pot on the way.

Today's miles walked: 10.8. Walking total: 15.9/1000
