Surprise!

This brown thrasher is a bird that I almost never see in the Winter. I looked at the range map and it appears that we're sort of on the edge of the line between where they breed and where they are seen year round. In my mind they're Summer visitors, but I guess that's not precisely the case! Also, they don't often bother with feeders. Anyway, it caused me to do a double take and grab my camera - which is always a good thing!
