Tragic news

Yesterday, there was the news of a fire in the Langestraat in Winschoten. It was the store and home of Martine's late uncle and aunt. Back in 2010, uncle Jan Emo Smid died of cancer. They had sold their store, which had been in the family for over 250 years, in 2008. As far as I know, it had been empty ever since. Both Martine's uncle and aunt died of cancer and now their former home is also gone. The room that is ablaze in this image, was their living room. In today's local news article, you can see there's not much left of the building (and the one that was next to it). So very sad to see this...
