Newcastle Downunder

Stanhopea Tigrina

I know this orchid as the vanilla orchid because it has the most wonderful vanilla perfume.  These flowers grow downwards from the plant and usually are out and flowering for Christmas.  Not to be confused with the real vanilla orchid but relatively easy to grow in our climate.  Speaking of which reached 39 C today.  It was 33C at 9.15 am this morning (Saturday as I am backblipping) and is now quite windy.  Fingers crossed no fires start.

One for Biker Bears flower Friday but I will have to tag it when I can see what the tag is.
