Esk river

Our last day in the 'Lake District'. We took a local walk to a nearby little church then along the Esk River to the 'Doctor's bridge'. Had lunch in the pub we were staying at before heading back . We drove out of Eskdale via Birkers Fell (see extra) , a fantastic high route with great views which was almost deserted and reminded me of Exmoor.
We haven't visited this part of the Lakes before but have really enjoyed it and would love to return, even though we had to rename it 'the Distirct' as there is a distinct lack of lakes (apart from the lovely Wastwater)!
