Someone is watching you...

On our walk with Ozzie this morning we passed a little paddock at the end of our street and this sweet little pony, no more than about 3 feet tall, came ambling over to the fence, no doubt looking for a handout. Since we had nothing for him, he contented himself by reaching through the fence for the grass on the other side (which was obviously greener). Next time we'll be sure to take carrots.

This afternoon we took offers on our beloved Berkeley house, a somewhat surreal experience. Each supplicant was represented by their broker who came before us and presented their offer. Each offer was accompanied by a letter appealing to us in various ways about how worthy they were. I honestly wasn't sure what to do with all that power. Our two agents were there to guide us through the process, and if course their commission is based upon the final selling price, but they must remain neutral. Nobody knows what each offer is until it is presented.

We chose the highest offer, who wouldn't after all, but also feel happy that it was made by a young couple who will bring some new blood into the neighborhood. We then repaired to Claremont hotel watering hole for a drink, feeling shaky and shell shocked. After a pleasant dinner with old friends we're now ensconced in their guest room until tomorrow when we will scurry back to SantaRosa .
