Mahogany and Flourless Chocolate Cake

We celebrated my birthday tonight a week and some days after the actual day - something I've grown used to having a birthday 3 days post Christmas.  The Hanover Street Chop House has a reputation for easy elegance, great steaks and high prices, but on Sunday they have a fixed price menu of 40$ for 3 courses.  It was more than enough food, delicious and elegant in a very comfortable way.  Dessert was not the highlight, it was all good.  I had the Scottish Salmon and Jon the Filet Mignon, a wonderful beet, chèvre and prosciutto salad and of course the Chocolate Cake!  The Pimms Cup Martini was pretty tasty too with a strong ginger flavor.

The extra is a good representation of today's weather, a little bit of everything all at once - snow/sleet showers, moderate to windy and even a little sun.
