The Hungry Caterpillar

Just before Christmas Doug came home with a Swan plant, in a tiny pottle.  I never got around to planting it, and it has sat on the windowsill ever since then.
A couple of days ago, Doug spotted one or two teeny weeny monarch caterpillars and since then we have watched them closely, all eight of them.  They are garbiologists - this guy demolished this hole in less than 10 minutes, I took a few photos then left him to sleep it off.  This guy is less than a cm, but they are growing like mushrooms.
