Field Stubble

Dear Diary,

This field belongs to a farm not too far from me.  They raise beautiful Jersey cows for milk.  The field is planted with cow corn to provide winter fodder for the cows.  I was drawn to the row after row of cut off stalks and thought it look especially good in black and white.  Funny story about cow corn...

A very long time ago my first husband and I were camping in Pennsylvania next to a field of cow corn.  Our little tent was right next to a pricey camper with all the bells and whistles.  As we were preparing our camp fire to make dinner ,we heard our neighbors' comment on the ripe corn, just inches away.  They decided to help themselves to a few ears for their dinner.  We decided not to tell them it was cow corn.  Some people just need to learn hard lessons for themselves.  We laughed about that for years afterwards. Sometimes, being a country bumpkin has its advantages.
