Junction improvements which will take a year to complete mean that the journey into Manchester City Centre early in the morning is just very slow (I am in Salford at this point).

Traffic was not moving at all and the rain was lashing down, so I turned off the wipers and took this shot. I quite liked the effect.

Lots of press and other people there. In the shot in his opening remarks he is just explaining that this is a weird way to celebrate his birthday, which happens to be today. Happy Birthday to him !
