No "mariniere" or "a la creme" sauce here

Out for a walk again along Torquay's beautiful seafront with my trusty 90mm locked and loaded as it's Tiny Tuesday.
Found these very small mussels (only about 1 - 2 inches) clustered on steps on the beach. I have converted this shot to black and white and included another shot in colour in the extras. There is also a close-up of the "sand" on the beach and another photo, is it a landscape of miniature volcanos or a wall of limpet shells.
