Alien Invaders

After an aborted optician appointment that turned out to be ‘not on the system’, Peter and I went for a wander in Sherrards Wood.

I used to run there often and it’s much changed, having been coppiced, but still just as wonderful to walk in.

Some of the felled timber had lichen and fungal growths. This one is I think Parmotrema perlatum (so the same as I found in Keston, in Kent on Boxing Day), but here it appears to be striking an alien pose. Or perhaps that’s just my imagination.

In extras, Hairy Curtain Crust, (Stereum hirsutum), also called False Turkey Tail.
