My topsy-turvy life

Dry, parched mouth? We have the solution!

We could tell Owen was struggling more this morning; his breathing was that much more work, swallowing was a bit of an effort, he was exhausted and he was getting himself worked up and upset which makes everything even harder for him.
So it was a bit of a relief when we finally got the call to say they were ready for him in theatre just before midday for dilatation #9.

When we were taken to see him in recovery he'd been brilliant -again- with no issues and was all wrapped up with his apnoea monitor (on the left) attached. We went virtually straight back to the ward and because he was a bit sore and dry after the surgery we gave him a bit of mouthwash (on the green sponge) to help him out before milk.

This time his oesophagus was taken up to 10mm and Mr Wilkinson was happy that after 6 hours apnoea free we could take him home. Yay!
So we were home just before midnight!
