Woodland Snowdrops

This afternoon F and I went for a walk at Ifton Meadows Nature Reserve. There was a lovely display of snowdrops in the woodland of Price's Dingle, they're not fully out but it's still lovely to see them amongst the leaves and moss.

When we got onto the open part of the nature reserve, a group of  volunteers were clearing some of the silver birch that always invade open land. The grassland is needed to be clear for flowers to grow and for ground nesting birds to have places to breed.  Thank goodness for volunteers!
