Winter Meadow

It seems that the weather people on the news like to make the weather forecast as dire and scary as possible. Whether it's heat, drought, rain, flood or famine whatever is forecast is rarely as awful as they would have us believe. OilMan puts the constant weather reports during the news in the same category as he does the drug commercials with their hurriedly listed possibilities of dire illness and even death.

OilMan has a thermometer that gives the temperature, humidity, wind chill and amount of rainfall. He also has a weather app on his phone that reports from a weather station just a few blocks away. I find it more convenient to look out the window. Or, when in doubt, to step out the door.

Rain lasting for up to a week has been predicted for days now but has yet to come to pass. We decided to go back to Spring Lake this morning while the sky was still relatively clear and the temperature in the 50's. Today's picture is of a meadow on a plateau above Spring Lake with a watershed creek from Annadel State Park. I like the view of the redwoods on the hill to the right and 'our' hill straight ahead in the middle of the shot. Ozzie likes nothing better than to snuffle beneath the water for a stick. He seemed more interested in carrying the stick this morning than swimming for it. Smart boy....

We're going to see Bohemian Rhapsody this evening in a theatre in Sebastopol which apparently serves wine, beer and food. I'm not sure how that works but we shall find out...I'm looking forward to it....
