A leaf on the wind...

The Arrington Vineyards

We took a lovely weekend trip up to the Nashville area for the weekend just to get away for a bit. Last night we dined at The Cheesecake Factory and then just went back to the hotel for a relaxing night. This morning after a lovely breakfast brunch at the hotel consisting of an extra fancy omelet, fresh fruit, a Cranberry Lemon muffin, and a Belgian Waffle topped with more fresh fruit we checked out of the hotel and ventured out into the world. Before hitting the road we spent a little time checking out the very small old graveyard hidden away under a small group of trees on the hotel grounds. It was a bit of an oddity. I can't say we've ever seen anything like that before at a hotel and we certainly weren't expecting it. Then we were off to the Arrington Winery. It was so absolutely beautiful. It was the first time in a really long time I felt completely relaxed. We sat atop a hill on a swinging bench, overlooking the vineyard, sipping a delightful wine, and taking in the beauty of the day. After a couple of hours of sampling wines and wandering around the vineyard, we were back on the road. We stopped briefly down the road to visit with a small herd of goats and a couple of horses. They were so talkative and sooo cute! Then back to Nashville for some time at The Parthenon. I got some great squirrel shots in too, but there can be only 1 blip of the day. I may have to make a Blipfolio folder of the day. There were just so many great shots of the day. We finished the trip off with a trip to Calypso, our favorite local restaurant, for one of their well known additive salads. Then we drove back to Bartlett. Back to regular life... arg...
