Life through the lens...

Sunrise

After last night we had a bit of a lie in this morning.
I got up to make some tea, which we had in bed, and that is when I looked out of the window to see this wonderful sunrise.
Enhanced by the shape of the beech tree branches.
One of my favourite trees, and I actually like it as much without leaves as with.

We really enjoyed last nights wine tasting.
It made us realise though, that if you want some of the better Australian wines , hand made by small vineyards, you have to pay a higher price.
The first two white wines were not to our taste.
A mix of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes.
We did like all the red wines. Our favourite being a Shiraz from the Tomfoolery vineyard, and called “ Young Blood”.
At £19.99 a bottle a touch expensive though compared to the Shiraz we brought back from France.
( Didn’t order any.)

This morning has been spent doing the accounts, and paying the cheques and raffle money into the bank.

This afternoon I have been baking.
Made our first rhubarb and orange pie of the season. Yummy.
Our local growers say it is not a good year for forced rhubarb.
It will be a short growing season as the roots aren’t very big because of the dry summer.
So we better make the most of it while it lasts.
