To mark the centenary of the murder of Rosa Luxemburg in Berlin in 1919 I thought I'd try and find something vaguely appropriate. The best I could manage were a couple of pamphlets from my grandfather's bookshelves with the words of two of the biggest figures in communist history even if both of them disagreed with Rosa. Still, despite their disagreements Lenin praised Rosa after her death as an 'eagle' of the working class. Later Trotsky defended Rosa's memory from Stalin. I remember going to see Margarethe von Trotta's film 'Rosa Luxemburg', presumably at the Filmhouse, not very long after I moved to Edinburgh in the mid 1980s.
This also marks 3000 blips without a break for me, after my slow start!
