We're Back!!!

They stake out their claim
Proud soon to be nest builders
Dog Park Rookery

This year the Marymoor herons at the dog park are just sitting elegantly a bit west  of where all the nests were located last year.  And the past two or three years the nests were west of their previous nests. I'mnot sure yet if they are just surveying the scene before moving back to the older established nests, or thinking of nesting where they now sit.  The original move was prompted because Bald Eagles were attacking the nesting areas too easily.  It didn't seem to be to bad the past few years so a complete move would be a surprise.
Extra is another heron in another pose
