Black and white

Woke to black ice.

The delivery van bearing gifts from Amazon had to reverse up the road. A neighbour with a doctor's appointment started to walk down the road, decided it was too dangerous and went back home. A Range Rover is reported to be swerving around merrily on the stuff.

A couple, not locals, are seen helping themselves to our salt bin. We remonstrate. They explain. Their elderly mother has osteoporosis and she has already slipped on black ice. We forgive them.

Put on my new ice treads and stride out with newfound confidence.
