Flower Friday

...is an easy challenge for me. I picked these this morning as we were due for another very hot day. Many records are being broken in Australia for the continued heat that we are experiencing. The roses are Princess Alexandra of Kent and Queen Elizabeth with some salvia which is reblooming from last year. We were intending to spend a few days in Sydney but as the temps are over 40 we decided home was a better option. The caravan gets very hot. It does have an air conditioner but that means we would have to sit inside which isn’t much point, may as well be at home in the aircon.

After our morning walk we went to lunch up at the local pub (The Family). It is about 400m away but we decided to drive as the weather was so awful. We are walking 2 hours earlier to beat the heat. Tom is finding the heat too much as he is getting on in years and walks slower and slower. Only 6 weeks to autumn. Hooray.

Today we agreed on a house sitter for while we are away in the autumn, that will make us feel better about leaving the house, pets and garden. My brother says he can get away anytime as he has no pets, parents or potplants to keep him home. Certainly something to consider but I love my plants and pets (and did love my parents when they were still with us).
