Before meeting friends for lunch in Biggar I had a look round the churchyard and found these unusual gravestones.  I suppose they were reminders of temptation and that death comes to everyone.
Skeletons are not unusual but the stone for 30 year old Helen Telfer who died in 1707, has a tiny body and enormous limbs.
(Extra) Although it is covered in lichen it is just possible to make out a serpent in the apple tree above Adam and Eve in the other.  It was very difficult to read the inscription on the other side but I think the man died in 1759 aged 67.
