Christchurch all sorts

A good day, despite the weather.

We are staying in a pub/inn owned by John Illsley, bass player in Dire Straits. Thus all the photos of musicians/actors on the walls.

We travelled to Highcliffe, first stop a florists shop. It is all in St Valentines Day mode, all the prep starts next week. 250 deliveries to be made on the day, requiring 3 drivers and 5 helpers.

To the woodland burial ground where a bouquet of flowers was laid where we scattered J’s Mum’s ashes last year.

Then to Christchurch, parking next to the Priory which we visited ( and know well). A montage in extras. It is one of England’s beautiful buildings. I admired the vaulted ceiling over the Chancel. J loves the Jane Austin era memorial to Harriet Susan Viscountess Fitzharris, it is always moving. The Jesse Tree sculpture is terrific. And as an added bonus the Ensemble Orquesta and Grange Choral Society were rehearsing for a concert this evening. Simply spine tingling, and I loved what I heard of Holst Psalms. Must investigate them further.

Lunch at Captains Club. A very odd looking creature sat on a chair next to us, it had just had its fish lunch. It was explained to me that it is a Pomeranian, and it has its own instagram page (ZandLuna). Some dogs these days seem to be treated more like little furry children. Clearly much loved
