(Some of) The Crop

The usual Saturday morning, apart from an Evening News being smuggled into the papers, was followed by log chopping and gardening and the unwrapping of some stored apples. That didn’t take long.
Later, up to the Cameo to see Beautiful Boy, which has some things very spot on indeed, though the clever jumping about in time didn’t work for me, and the soundtrack was a bit intrusive and over emotive at times.
Glad I saw it anyway; I was strangely incensed by PB’s review. he drooled over Chalomet in Call me by Your Name, where a pampered white kid enjoys a ridiculous Italian idyll, but somehow a different pampered white kid falling into a crystal meth addiction is not something that cinema ought even to countenance recreating. Point is, PB, it’s actually a true story, you tosser.
