Alternative Hong Kong

A day of two halves - good and not so good. Starting with a visit to a huge graveyard built on the side of a steep hill adjacent to .our hotel.  We found a way in at the top by wriggling round one obstacle and climbing over another - later to find there was a perfectly legal and easier entrance lower down - but where's the fun in that?

Then into the centre swamped by Filipinos who all gather together on a Sunday (their one day off) for picnics and games of cards. It looked rather like cardboard city everywhere and just sooo many people. We fitted in a look at St John's Cathedral (built on the only piece of freehold land in HK) where a friend 'planted' a Peace Pole back when she lived out here in 1976.

Continuing on up to The Peak for the walk around the top which gives amazing views over the area - here I used the infrared camera some of the time.

Back down, we had a  brief rest in the hotel and then headed out for the Light Show around the harbour - distinctly underwhelming - a few beams of Iight do not make a display! After a slightly less underwhelming meal we are now sorting out plans for tomorrow.
