A day in the life

Varieté

Sometimes I work extra at the local theatre in Kalmar, one of the few theater buildings still in use in Sweden from the 1800s. It was completed in 1863 and has been in use ever since. Mostly used for plays of all kinds but also during a short period as a circus, when floorboards were laid over the benches in the first floor to make a floor for horses and clowns. Todays performance was a light vaudeville or varieté or revue over last years events, made to raise a laugh. Definitely on the lighter side of the entertainment scale but professionally set and with great musical arrangements.

One of my old students came to visit me today, we talked, played music made dinner together and had a good time. How nice it feels when old students grow to be good friends and you can have deep conversations about real life. He's just spent some time in India where he has trained to be a yoga teacher. Very far from what I could imagine to do at the age of 24.

End of a good day.
