Moonset and Castle Hill Peak

After the magnificent shots of the full moon in eclipse yesterday this is a poor offering. There was a film of grey cloud preventing a good clear image, especially below the pink strand. Castle Hill Peak, at right, is the highest point in the Torlesse Range.

My moonset collection.

The extra shot is of a fly I haven’t seen before. Unfortunately it was on my car, which did not provide a good colour contrast. It was a fluffy long-bodied fly, bluish grey in colour. The standout feature was the huge green eyes. It was about 10mm long.
