Brought to Earth

After an overnight low of -3F, fortunately it had warmed considerably as I trudged through the snow by the inlet. On the other side a big tree had fallen and taken out some smaller ones with it. I think its an ash, we have a lot dying because of the Emerald Ash Borer beetle.

What drew me to the scene were the horizontal lines of the trunks and branches made prominent by the settled snow on them. The odd vertical tree provides contrast. I'm not sure whether the shrub in front is a distraction or an added interest?
