Trapped

This skink somehow got itself into one of my rainwater bins. Fortunately not much of the rain was caught and the lizard was able to keep its head above water. In full screen you can see the twice-reflected face.

At the Waimakariri Gorge bridge the river was in flood (see extra shot). The water must have resulted from the nor’west thunderstorm followed by the southerly front that livened up the late afternoon yesterday. Thank goodness by the time all that started I had gained access to my house and the comforts it provides.
