Masterchef at school

Dear daughter has been practising hard for a competition at school where the challenge was to create a dish suitable for inclusion in the school lunch menu. Costing under £3:50 and with a Christmas theme.

The winning entry was the savoury dish at the centre - a well-balanced dish with meat and veg. There were a couple more savouries, but my app to create the photo collage only takes 9 pics.

Daughter's entry was the profiteroles a.k.a. Choux de Noël (filled with cinnamon cream). They were delicious and she was told they were of "restaurant standard", but they did not win. One of the comments was that the chef didn't think they could be scaled to produce 8,000 for lunchtime. She was happy to have taken part and we enjoyed all the sampling.
