Hey - it's Folkie's birthday! I always follow her musical links because they almost always take me either to old favourites or to music I can't believe I don't already know.

Today's is the wonderful Patti Smith (you'll have to go to Folkie's blip to find which). 

I left YouTube playing into another old Patti Smith favourite then, YouTube's idiosyncratic algorithms picking up something tangential about previous listens, as they do, my feed led into something I'd never heard before.

I've no idea what the connection with Patti Smith is and I'll bet your feed doesn't lead you there but it took my breath away.
