La Clotxa

A village tradition, as part of the Olive Festival, is the cook-it-yourself breakfast, lose your garlic in the fire, burn your herring, check the black pudding's cooked, massacre the tomato and stuff it all in half a loaf with the new oil, all swilled down with a glass of wine. This year I made the mistake of putting my plate down on a table while I cooked everything I wanted, only to return to the table to find a dozen people and my plate missing. They said it wasn't them who took my plate and they kindly replaced my missing herring... who knows what happened, but I kept them amused with my mixed up Catalan!
