Hiking in heaven

A new day, a new adventure in Alohaland! Today we went hiking with a fun bunch of friends - Bob, Chuck, Lyn and Jay. The day started with a breakfast gathering at the Ko'olau Country Club (also with Diane, Cynthia and Chuck's sister, Linda), where we had pancakes with maple and coconut syrup and lilikoi butter. Others had steak or omelettes with potato chips (at 8.30 a.m.!). We climbed to a beautiful waterfall through the tropical forest (or jungle!), laughing and chatting, stopping to look at a beautiful tropical bird or the fluid roots of huge trees, delicate flowers, spider webs and layer upon layer of lush vegetation. So beautiful! We continue to marvel at the inclusiveness of people here. They have taken us into the community and make us feel so at home! Such generous, fun-loving, playful and interesting people.
