A sorry sight.

Oot n aboot today.
Walked past this derelict sawmill, a huge industrial site. James Callander & Son Ltd were established in 1946 and for generations were suppliers of primarily Scottish softwood to the construction, fencing and packaging industries. They also had a log processing site in a nearby forest. Almost 100 employees lost their jobs immediately when they ceased trading in January 2018. Last time I saw the yard in the foreground it contained stacks of cut timber awaiting dispatch, today it’s a muddy waste ground. The factory was also in the news in 2016; it was the scene of a fatal accident.
