Canadian memory

I have really enjoyed Michael Portillo's tv programmes as he travels through Canada by train. Some of the places he has visited have brought back happy memories.
In the 1990s we had two wonderful holidays in Western Canada. Both times we flew to Vancouver and hired a car. We stayed in bed and breakfasts and enjoyed the company of the friendly Canadians. We crossed over to Vancouver Island and explored, before crossing back to British Columbia. Both times we eventually reached Jasper, by very different routes, before driving down the glorious Icefield Parkway. We ended up in Calgary to stay with friends. Wonderful memories, such a spectacular country.
In the far north of Vancouver Island we visited a tiny harbour called Telegraph Cove where I bought a sweat shirt embroidered with a motif of Canadian wildlife. It makes by blip on a day when I have stayed indoors, out of the cold, drippy day outside.
