Father and Son

Bella's birthday party. A dozen children indoors at a pizza parlor. Games, pizza, ice cream. A cake with a surprise in it and two more surprises on top of it. Parents and children. Gifts, cards. Of some 200 photographs, I come back to this one, and to the Mother and Daughter in the Extra. Something in these faces is so tender that it breaks my heart. Open.
