Nestling in a Crook

Unbelievable turnaround, today got to 41F. Amazingly the ice cream cone of snow on this nest hasn't melted, but I don't suppose the occupants have been using it for some time. Nests are fascinating constructions, seemingly flimsy, yet able to stay in place through thick and thin.

I spent a long time trying to focus stack this image to get more texture in the snow, only to find I didn't like the result. So I went with a single image and managed to bring out enough to avoid it being completely flat. Probably not adequate to print though.
