Another exotic neighbour

Wow, another week has flown by!

Talking of things with wings, here's a blip of one of my neighbours two cockatoos. This girl is a sweetie, but like any parrot you underestimate their abilities at your peril...

My neighbour has plenty of experience with birds as he and his wife run the Kaituna Bird Sanctuary. He tells me that cockatoos are very good at destroying things (mainly out of curiosity) as anyone who has encountered New Zealand's own mountain parrot, the kea, will tell you. In fact when I dropped by today the man of the house was building another aviary for the sanctuary and this bird was playing the role of site forman. The other cockatoo was digging up the pebbles on the driveway. You know, just for fun....
