Eaves Wood Nature Reserve

 A new slow walker  J came out today and kept me company round a gentle  4.5km before lunch at Silverdale Golf Club  and they let us use their car park. There was a big turn out today because the run was followed by the funeral of one of the originators of the  Tuesday running group.  I had only known him since we came up here last May,  by which time he was very ill and could no longer run at speed over the fells. I was always pleased to see him because he walked at my pace  until about a month ago when he became too ill even to walk with us.     He  died two weeks ago age 71. Tuesday was the perfect day for his funeral. We were all talking about him in our different groups. I expect his ears were burning.
