Daffodil Country

The friends I stayed with last night live in a valley on the edge of the New Forest where thousands of wild daffodils grow, many in their paddock.  They also grow many other narcissus, some inherited from a local expert.  On a dark, wild and wet morning I took a peep at some of them.   This is Narcissus scaberulus (perhaps!) a tiny gem, the flowers could hide behind a 10p piece.

A long, busy roads drive back this afternoon.  Torrential rain as we started out and when we stopped for tea.  Guess what?  Rain again as we arrived in Norwich.

This time tomorrow I'll have driven another 300 miles ..... Norwich - Southampton - London.  No rest for the wicked!
