Disappearing

The latest happening on the building site is the construction of a seven foot fence along the far side of the access road (you can see the grey strip of the road in this photo). They have put up big wooden pillars and cross pieces of wood further along to the right of this photo. Further pillars are laid in the earth opposite our garden stating the intention to continue the fence around the whole field (which isn’t being built on at present as someone won’t sell up who needs to before they feel they can proceed). The only bright side is that the huge weeds which will probably grow behind the fence will find it more difficult to distribute their seeds into our garden. I thought I’d better take this photo while I could as I’m guessing that the fence will be right along here by the middle of next week at the latest. It’s all go at the moment as they are opening the show houses later in February (we had a leaflet through the door). I shall miss the view of the trees across the field from downstairs.

You can also see that our garden gate got blown off, together with its hinges in the strong winds a few days ago. We will have to see about fixing it - at the moment it’s propped up against the shed and one of the hinges is bent.
