Snowstorm?

I canceled a car-buying trip for today because the weather threatened a big storm with as much as six inches of snow. It snowed like that elsewhere in Oregon — 12 inches at Bonneville Dam — but not here. When I woke up the ground was white, but by the time I left the house there were only bits of snow left clinging to the bark of trees. Later in the day it snowed again, lovely frisky flakes dancing in the air. They seemed to be sticking. But it must have warmed up again because the next time I looked, there was no sign of snow at all.

Yet the headlines in the online Oregonian now say "Portland's winter storm arrives" and "Portland snowstorm 2019: What you need to know."

Let's see what tomorrow brings.
We shall have weather, whether or not.
