Ice Sculpture

On my walk with Finlay today I stopped to photograph this piece of ice. It was in a drainage ditch along the lane, but the water, which it must have been on originally, had dropped away leaving this piece ‘hanging’ on the grass and twigs it had formed around. Even as I was watching it, it rotated through 90 degrees leaving the ‘finger’ pointing skywards. The background blur has created some nice little highlights. As ever, look large - you can see all the little trapped bubbles.

I then spent the rest of the day at the studio with Mrs madwill cutting more fabric - and the job of stacking and packing it all awaits me this evening and tomorrow!
