Tanker Tuesday.....

A day of cattle work , both here and next door. Ran both lots of spring calving cows in to give them their annual BVD vaccine jag, then after lunch brought the 11 late calving cows down from the hill to worm and fluke dose the cows and give the wee calves a pneumonia vaccine up the nose. Kept the 2 cows still to calve down here and chased the rest back up the hill . So far this winter they are doing better outside than if they were housed- no doubt the weather might change its mind sometime.
This is a water bowser in one of the fields that doesn’t have a water supply or a burn running through it. During the dry summer last year the sheep were draining it every week or so, and we were struggling to fill it with the pump from the usual spot in the burn as the water was so low. No doubt that may change when we get a normal summer again !
