Regent Quay

A view of part of the inner harbour where it is in the heart of the city. This area near the Maritime Museum is one of the oldest parts of the city. The picture is taken from just off Ship Row which is one of the earliest mentioned roads in Aberdeen, it is first mentioned in documents in 1281. Behind me is Provost Skene's house, built in 1545, and one of the oldest houses in Aberdeen. Nearby is a warehouse belonging to Aberdeen Shore Porters Society, a company formed in 1498.

None of this can be seen in the photograph which instead looks in the opposite direction towards the harbour.

Another mainly cloudy day, but no rain and not too cold.
