A Splash of Colour - Red

One of the advantages of this particular period of the year is there is an endless supply of colourful photographs. This Santa stall is appropriately enough just in front of the St. Nicholas Centre. The original St. Nicholas might not approve of the way in which his name has been taken over for a pagan festival, or almost pagan. The midwinter festival, which no doubt can trace its origin back almost as long as the human race. I believe the idea of gifts on this occasion dates back to Roman times.

Had my longest walk for several days today, certainly the longest this month so far, a bit over 8,000 paces, possibly roughly 4 miles. Quite cool, but not when indulging in a brisk walk in the direction of a coffee and a fruit tart. It was dark when I returned so I have a potential library of Chritmassy photographs still to take. Unfortunately somebody already posted the leopard in front of the theatre.
