Vines and Shadows

Surprisingly warm and sunny, I didn't need a hat or gloves, so nice to photograph without them. But boy, the reflections were burning my retinas!

I got hooked on these vines looping out of the snow, like croquet hoops, I was intrigued by the patterns created by their cast shadows and those from trees outside the frame. Getting the perspective to create separation, exclude unwanted elements and create pleasing shadows was quite tricky.

Again, I had a hard time with white balance because some areas looked too green, others too red. Also, trying to get a sense of bright sun, yet keep a feeling of cold. Hopefully I got there in the end?
